About The Phyrst
The Phyrst has a long history which I will not attempt to detail here, but for my experience, it was where Spider Kelly used to play in the 90's. Around 2000, the bar changed hands as the original owners retired. Skip ahead a few more years, and they needed someone to take over the scheduling component of the website, so I whipped up a little PHP app for one of the owners. It's at that time that the Phyrst got a real website, because I felt that having the domain, just for one night's entertainment, seemed silly. I'm no longer the web designer, but I still work closely with him at times, schedule Open Mic, and I'm still there most Friday nights, in the corner, drinking my Captain and Ginger.
